I've been the proud owner of this gorgeous little chair for a long time but sadly I have no room for it. I thought about putting it in storage simply because I love it so much and it is sheer perfection. That just seems wrong on so many levels, so I'm offering it to you.....
Let me start with the patina. I know, I know, the roses fabric is the bomb dot com, but the patina just can't be ignored. It has the original gold paint, worn to an absolute perfection of warmth without being bright or obviously even gold. It is more of a shimmer. The gold gilt has oxidized in places and there is aqua peeking through. This was not added just a natural process of aging.
Now onto the fabric. OMG. In all of my years of selling, I've never seen a pattern or fabric that makes me swoon like this one does. I'm a big fan of pink roses (just like you) and these are simply the best. Like David Austin's english roses with petal upon petal of the prettiest pink palette.
This is a petite but sturdy chair. I've used it as my desk chair for many years. There are no rips or tears, but there are some very minor stains on the seat which can be viewed by clicking on the photo to enlarge. To my mind, these are very minor and don't detract from this little beauty.
If you click on my link for ''My Press'', you'll see this chair was featured on page 54 of the March, 2009 issue of Romantic Country.
It measures 39'' tall. Seat height is standard 18''. Width of seat is 16''.
